The Times Are A-Changin
I think Bob Dylan said it best when he said “The times they are a-changin”. We now live in a time and society where the greatest thing today is old news tomorrow. The companies that want to be truly great understand how to change with the times.
For carpet cleaners, change can be an extremely difficult thing. I can tell you first-hand how much of a struggle it is to get a carpet cleaner to change from using one pre-spray to a different pre-spray, even if those two pre-sprays are the exact same product, just in different bottles. For some reason, carpet cleaners stick with what they know and are familiar with.
That’s about to change, however. Thanks to HydraMaster, the carpet-cleaning industry is about to be introduced to a machine that’s going to make cleaners consider a change. And the machine that’s going to do this is known as the CDS xDrive.
As you can see in the pictures above, this electric-driven truck mount is currently only going to be available in the new Ford Transit. Instead of using a driveshaft like the current HydraMaster CDS, the xDrive uses a generator that is mounted in the engine compartment to power a computer controller that uses programmed precision to run the motor on the unit. That motor is what ultimately powers the vacuum blower and water pump. Now that sounds really confusing, but all you really need to know is that this computer makes sure everything runs exactly as it’s supposed to.
Now you may be thinking that this electric unit is going to be like the Bane-Clene or Mytee electric truck mounts as far as performance goes. Before that thought embeds itself too far into your brain, let me tell you that the xDrive is going to outperform those machines a hundred fold. In fact, the xDrive is going to have the same performance, if not a little better, than the current CDS as far as vacuum and heat goes. It’s going to change the way we think about what’s possible with truck mounts moving forward.
So, what does this all mean for you? It means that you need to start preparing yourself for change.
Bob Dylan certainly wasn’t singing about the CDS xDrive when he wrote The Times Are A-Changin’, but change is certainly coming in the form of the xDrive and it’s going to be an incredible thing.
